Pastor Mattek encourages members in faithful stewardship of their earthly resources so that God, the source of all our blessings, might be glorified and his Kingdom grow. As such Pastor Mattek works with the Stewardship Committee, oversees church and school fund-raising ventures, and facilitates opportunities for members to give special one-time or deferred gifts. Pastor Mattek enjoys walks (especially to coffee shops) with his wife, Ruth. He also enjoys fishing, tennis, reading, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Pastor Mattek holds an M-Divinity from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary and an MA in History from the University of Minnesota, Mankato.
Pastor Mattek has served as a parish pastor in Belvidere, Illinois; Waukesha and Milwaukee, Wisconsin—as a teacher and professor of history and theology at Luther Preparatory School in Watertown, Wisconsin and at Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota
